Please do not join the Central Valley High School Alumni Newsletter that you may receive via e-mail, as that is not a part of the Central Valley High School Alumni Association. We have asked them not to use our name. They continue to do so but if we do not send them money, then maybe they will stop using “our” name. Also, Classmates does not help the school, and you can get the information from us at no cost to you. We ask the permission of all our alumni before we give out their information to anyone. We would love for you to join the Alumni Association as the money we raise goes to help the school, alumni, teachers, staff, and students.

The Alumni Association also has copies of several yearbooks from various years that we sell for $40.00 each plus shipping and handling. We have all the yearbooks on USB drives and CDs from 1955 through 2024. We sell CDs and USB drives for $10.00 each plus shipping and handling costs. We now have all the Class photos on USB for sale. Thank you, Jean Naylor, for getting them done for us.

Unfortunately, there are many of our classmates, teachers and staff who have died in the last year. If you know of someone who has died that is not on the Memorial Page, please let us know. If you see someone who is on the Memorial page that is still alive let us know that, too!

The Central Valley High School Alumni Association’s Reunion Fundraiser will be Saturday, October 12, 2024. The fundraiser was moved to hopefully make it a little cooler for all that attend and to make it where there are fewer activities to distract from getting everyone out to attend. The location will be the same. Claire Engle Park in the City of Shasta Lake. There will be pizza by the slice from Pizza Factory and beverages for adults from Silver Dollar Club and Ridgetop Cellars a north state winery and soft drinks, iced tea, and water for children. There will be games, 50/50 raffle, silent auctions for baskets and other items and music. This all starts at 11:00 AM and goes on until 5:00 PM. The Reunion Fundraiser is open to all classes and the public. Come out and enjoy the fun. Bring your family and friends, folding chairs, pop ups, etc. The Classes of 1959, 1960, and 1961 will get together that evening at Jeannie Naylor’s home. Safe Travels to everyone.

If you would like to purchase the book, you can contact Dr. Polf at 3000 Galloway Ridge, Apt. A 201, Pittsboro, NC 27312-3801or Atmosphere Press at atmospherepress.com. Thank you, Bill, for sharing and all our best to you.

Congratulations to Nick Rogers, Class of 1964. His granddaughter Shelbie won the 2024 NSCIF Discus throw with a throw of 128’ 1”.

Shelbie did this after having her back broken in a four-wheeler rollover accident last year. Her victory was for Central Valley’s rival West Valley. She plans to attend Shasta College this fall where she will participate in track and field. We join Grandpa Colonel Rogers in being very proud of her.

Congratulations to Mahala Rogers, Class of 2018 on being selected to run the River’s Edge Academy!

Mahala Rogers (Woodward) Deputy Probation Officer II at the Juvenile Division was hired in 2022 and assigned to the Juvenile Intake Unit, interviewing juvenile offenders and their families, and cranking out reports for the Court. When it comes to writing reports, she is a machine. Her reports are very well written, providing the Courts with the necessary information so that the judges can make well informed decisions for what is best for the offender and their family and for the community.

In early 2024, she was asked to take over the River’s Edge Academy caseload. This is a very challenging caseload, working with a difficult population of juveniles, while at the same time working collaboratively with multiple community agencies and the staff assigned to River’s Edge Academy inside the Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility. She is once again excelling at this new position.

Mahala enjoys photography and most outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping, well away from the rigors of city life! This very intelligent Probation Officer, with a wonderful personality, we be a force to reckon with wherever she may go in the Probation department. We are so thankful to have Mahala as part of the team at the Juvenile Division
