Administrative Team

Our Principal
Mrs. Alex Lain
I am honored to serve as the principal of Central Valley High School, a role I have held since 2023. I have been proud to be part of this district since 2003, beginning my career as a teacher of English and Social Science at Shasta Lake School. During my time there, I also served as assistant principal for six years before joining CVHS as assistant principal and later stepping into my current role.
Central Valley is not only where I work, it is home. As a former student, I attended Project City (GOES), Deer Creek (SLS), CVI (City Hall), and graduated from CVHS. I continued my education at Shasta College before earning my Bachelor of Arts in English from CSU, Chico. After more than a decade in the classroom, I pursued a Master of Science in Applied School Leadership from National University.
My professional philosophy is rooted in serving our community and supporting the growth of every student: academically, socially, and personally. I am deeply committed to expanding Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways and increasing college course opportunities at CVHS, ensuring all students are prepared for success beyond high school.

Our Assistant Principal
Mr. Jim Henderson
Mr. Henderson has been an educator for twenty-five years. His first teaching position was in Rialto California in 1998 and then moved to Redding in 2005. This is Mr. Henderson’s first administrative position as he has served as an English teacher, Department Chair, Administrative Intern, Athletic Director, and coach of multiple sports.
Mr. Henderson graduated from Simpson College in 1997 with a degree in English Literature. He has three children and is happily married. He is excited to become part of the Central Valley community, traditions, and ready to continue to help build upon the innovation that characterizes CVHS as a California Distinguished School and National Model School.
